Like every year the French Institute in Taipei , who plays the role of the Embassy of France in Taiwan, invited the French to Taiwan in a reception, this year was to Grand Formosa Hotel.
The director of FTI, Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, gave us a nice speech in which he assured himself the Chinese translation (bravo Mr. Director) and deputy foreign minister gave a speech in Taiwan, entirely in French (although he admitted that the speech had been prepared by the European section of the protocol department of the Government Taiwan).
As usual, the buffet was delicious and the drinks at the top level, this year we even had a booth pancake ... Mamm Goz is which will not be happy if the IFT makes the concurence!
I like this reception because it gives me the opportunity to see people I do not see often, I even saw my wife's cousin and director of the Taipei 101, accompanied by an important member of government (well from what I understood). Finally
the magnificent Eiffel Tower ice ... thank you to clim 'because it's not far off 40!
