TV "Crossroads". What should we think? An ADSL
What should we think of the replacement guarantee "crossroads" - Factsheet - Contract No. 998999999018 ?
is my experience ... the experience!
In January 2007, I purchased along with a Crossroads overhead projector 50 ", 5 years replacement warranty. In July 2010 my back goes down, I make a declaration of failure. A few days later my TV down is removed by a company which mandated a finding of fault.
A week later, the company IFEBO / € 467.64 Carrefour offers me in good shopping hub. I formally request the replacement and waives the right to purchase. More than a month after the crash I received a new proposal IFEBO / Crossroads for a purchase of € 448.00 with a declaration of inability to provide a replacement device "... we do not this day replacement unit equivalent to the failed ".
Yet it is clearly indicated in the contract "If the day of the accident, the insured equipment is equipped with technology that is no longer sold, the replacement will be made on the basis of a material having similar characteristics and commonly marketed stores to Carrefour ".
I go to the crossroads store where I bought my projector I see a device like" plasma "50" specifications comparable to my back, is sold at similar prices (700 €). I photograph the product label.
There is one point I was told by phone that I was never confirmed in writing. The replacement is done on the basis of a television whose price never exceeds the amount proposed in good purchase.
In my case, the amount in vouchers for a camera like mine is 70% of the purchase price (between 36 and 48months), not including the price of insurance is € 468 = (799 € - 159 €) x 70%.
I just across the throat of € -159 5 years replacement warranty insurance. When buying I were offered free insurance (price of 159 €). But this resulted in the invoice with a throw of 159 € on the price of the TV!
Yet things seem simple. On the first page of the prospectus which is a contract it says "One call and your device is changed in you" and again "Your machine down? We replace with a new one."
is a mail with A / R Carma Ombudsman / Customer Service crossroads that could break the deadlock. A few days later I was offered to replace the TV that I spotted the store crossroads. In the end, I waited over two months this TV replacement. Incur expenses in phone calls and letters. Not to mention the time spent ...

For this case, I had to spend twenty phone calls to multiple stakeholders (shop crossroads IFEBO ass. Crossroad, SPB (Le Havre), Carma ass. crossroads ,...) and write several letters.
- The company that SPB acts as an intermediary for the company crossroads. They apply the letter of the instructions and have no room to maneuver. They are in my opinion the scapegoats of the case: I must not be the first to complain, they are at the forefront and be the first victims of customer dissatisfaction.
- IFEBO / Carrefour is a very bad name. They are the second level of appeal and did not have much more power.
- Carma / Customer Service Carrefour (unreachable?). This is the last level of appeal before the court. You can express its displeasure and enforce its rights by mail (including through the mediator)
Even if everything would have gone well, we can not expect a replacement TV within 15 days.
The "replacement warranty TV crossroads." A good deal for whom?
In my case, for 159 €, I can in the best case get vouchers or TV replacement with a value of 448 €. € 448 in vouchers, it is different from 448 € on his bank account. The evidence I saw in the store crossroads near my house on some products, refund the crossroads full price of these products in shopping vouchers, and I guess they do not mean the sale to loss. € 448 is also very different from a TV replacement with a value of 448 €. Again, the "margin" of intersection is included in the price.
If we choose the replacement, the company directs us to a product "technically" equivalent to less than 70% (in my case) of the purchase price. And there, on televisions and technical improvements are fast and they are finding technically equivalent model for not very expensive. From this point of view, my case is somewhat exceptional ... I had my back to a very low price because the technology was dying.
If you buy a TV high range (ft glass, high quality speakers, ...) the matter will be less interesting for you. For the TV replacement will be of type mid-range and probably will cost much less than the 70% of the purchase price. Moreover
replacement doesn't once. The TV of a substituted 2-year warranty standard, it does not get paid the remaining years. For
crossroads, this product is a real jackpot. According to my estimates, it would have more than one television on 2 or 3 crashes between 3 and 5 years for the operation to become a deficit. I do not think that far exceeds 10% of faults on this type of product (or a television in 10). With these figures, it has a margin of 70% for Carrefour. In this calculation, I do not take into account that 159 € for 3 years ago, have a "current" value of 15 or 20% higher between 180 and 200 € today.
should also know that no TV ready. We are stuck with no TV and no possibility of buying a new one soon ... This forces the client to accept the replacement or purchase without question if he will not live two months without a TV.
In conclusion, I therefore strongly recommend the purchase of this replacement warranty. In all
